Back from Belize...

we had a great time... really awesome. trying to re-acclimate to colorado... got used to it being too hot to walk around in the daylight.

i'm going to collect all the photos, and organize them... then re-organize my website a bit and put them up... should be good ;p

like it so far, have two house plants.

got a little water fountain in attempt to drown out music from (upstairs xor next_door) although all it really does is make something else to listen to.

I'm keeping my permanent address as my parents' house, so anything important should be sent there (wink wink, Rea).

next step, find a job.

wow... i don't update very often.

i'm just about ready to move out ;p
i went to my lease signing appointment, i guess i should have confirmed... they had lost my paperwork.
they said they'd have it ready the morning i'm planning to move in.

read Villa Incognito by Tom Robbins. it was good, and wacky if a bit orientalist...

I had a dream about climbing trees, I was good at it.
I woke up and went out and climbed a tree, I was still pretty good at it, but my pants kept getting in the way...

I've been spending a lot of time with L lately. *smiles happily* It takes some planning around our schedules and driving, but I really enjoy the time we get together.

I spent most of the time while she was at work yesterday reworking my website. I wrote a publishing script to merge together my navigation html snippets with a page template, and of course the actual page data to generate static html pages. It should make updates fairly easy, and of course gets rid of all the nasty javascript which was causing all my caching problems... (go python!!)

Oh, for those of you arena users... you can edit and delete posts now, and put html into them. The editing is a little funky, what with the having to retype it into the post box and all... but I didn't feel like making a whole new screen for it (the way it's set up, you need to create two php files and at least one xsl file for every new page you make) blech... I don't like php.

Got my new camera. (forgive the co.jp link, but the US site is lame imo.). They market it with a bunch of junk like "elegance and sophistication", but I was just looking for something small, that I might actually take with me, and let you do some manual things that I could play with... and this one seemed like the best fit. I like it so far, but I think I'm going to need to get a case for it after all...

went for a bike ride up table top... found a law enforcement driver training facility i didn't know was there. it's cold sitting on the roof in the rain. i'm getting better at making pop-can alcohol burners... they're not quite so flaily and are actually blow-outable now, i only have a couple paper-clip burns on my fingers.

woke up in a good mood... managed to miss my class through pure absent mindedness, got a new school id/bus pass, canceled crappy credit card, went to bank, did some banking stuff... researched digital cameras, went to camera shop (they didn't have any of the one's I wanted to look at), listened to haoma82's new cd (very cool) (also watched bits of a gig on dvd), went to work, did email stuff, wrote a poem, updated my website, posted to LJ....

I did a lot of stuff.... but I didn't go to class, and I didn't really get any work done, was I productive today?

(btw, i'm still having caching issues, you may still have to flush it to see the new writing nav on my page...)

Went to bed around midnight, got up at 4am to take L's dad to the airport, got back, slept for a couple minutes, went to school, came back intending to go to work, fell asleep on couch. umm... i really do have work to do, i should get on that.

random update & jade empire

Have been hanging out a lot with Lauren trading between rushing around feverishly and relaxing very purposefully all weekend. Having a great time, although now that I'm back at my house to do homework and such it's all quiet and completely lacking in motivation.

Started a game of Jade Empire on the xbox at L's house, I like it so far, although it's been really easy. Anybody who has known me for a while won't be surprised that I chose the small, quick, girl Radiant Jen Zi.

edit (23:06)- worked on my website a bit, mostly just got a few more poems up, and redirected the news link to here. (i'm having some caching issues with the js, you may have to refresh a lot to see the new stuff :()
